Debbie Wells
Executive Director
Debbie Wells, Executive Director of the Achievement Institute for STEM Scholars (AISS), brings a powerful blend of corporate expertise and nonprofit leadership to her role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Chapman University, as well as two master’s degrees—in Information Technology Management and Business Administration—from Webster University.
Debbie spent over 16 years at international tech distribution leader Ingram Micro, Inc., serving in roles such as New Accounts Manager, IM Logistics Client Program Manager, and Government Account Manager. During her tenure, she managed and supervised teams of up to 35 people across multiple locations including Buffalo, New York; Miami, Florida; Mexico; and the Philippines.
With over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Debbie is deeply committed to community service and youth development. Her dedication has earned her several prestigious honors, including the 2023 Woman of Distinction award from California State Senator Tom Umberg (District 34), the 2021 Chapman University Distinguished Alumni Award, and 2019 Person of the Year from the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce.
Debbie has also served as a mentor and board member for the Career Beginnings Mentoring Program, previously partnering with AISS on student-centered initiatives. She currently serves on the Kiwanis Santa Ana Board, where she chairs the Community Service Committee, and is a graduate of OCTANe’s Nonprofit Accelerator Program. As AISS’s only full-time staff member, Debbie has led the organization for over 15 years, combining her passion for education with a hands-on commitment to guiding students in their academic, personal, and professional journeys.
