My journey with AISS started when I was only 16 years old. I was an AISS scholar, became an administrative assistant, and then an academic advisor for the program. AISS has not only given me the tools and resources to be successful, but the program became my second family. The staff and my peers motivated me to keep pushing forward even when I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. Most importantly, the program helped me to discover my passion for education, and I decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Education in School Counseling and Higher Education from the University of Redlands. AISS inspired me to continue doing this very important work that positively impacts the next generation. I'm certain, they in turn will do the same and give back to our community. Thank you to AISS for providing me with the foundation to succeed, so that I may continue to empower students to reach their full potential.
