AISS Students receive a stipend of $800 a year.
This stipend helps pay for pre-college expenses. To receive the full amount, students must attend 44 seminars their Junior Year, and 46 seminars their Senior Year. The AISS program is year-round.
According to the Orange County Register (“The Cost of Getting In”, Sunday, September 26, 2004), expense activities of getting into colleges/universities are:
Applying to merely two California State University schools for admission, including SAT I and ACT testing fees, can run $157.
Applying to five schools, SAT and ACT test preparation courses (and materials), SAT II Test fees, score reporting fees, Advanced Placement Exams, and copying and mailing fees, can run $1,965.
Applying to ten schools, five public and five private, with SAT/ACT test preparation courses, SAT/ACT/SATII test fees, score reporting fees, Advanced Placement Exams, tutoring, and copying and mailing fees can total $7,383.
